My family and I went for a walk on the pier for my dad's birthday. There's a tiny shop called Kobe Pearl & Gem that's been there for decades, where you can pick an oyster out from the sea water trough and they'll open it up and give you the pearl. We each picked one. Pink and golden pearls are the rarest, then black pearls, then white pearls. My entire family picked ones with black pearls, and I picked the common white pearler with a nice cream cast to it. I had a day & night ring made out of the ones my brother and I picked, which my mom bought for me. It's probably my new favorite thing I own next to the ammonites Spencer gave me.
